I love my wife for many reasons. Her famous, delicious homemade Organic Almond Milk is one of those reasons.
After people try Kia’s almond milk, we often hear things like, “Why does anyone drink regular milk ever? What kid wouldn’t love this? This is so delicious? How can I make it?”
It is an outstanding substitute for dairy milk and is perfect for, well…everyone, unless you are allergic to almonds. It forms the basis for many of our smoothies here at home and is excellent for people who are trying to get protein from vegetarian/vegan sources.
I’m excited to share this video of Kia with you. She will show you just how simple it is to make your own almond milk at home.
Recipe is as follows:
Fortified Raw Almond Milk [makes 4 cups]
1 cup raw almonds soaked overnight
2 cups filtered water
2 Cups coconut water from young coconuts (You can also use either “Invo” Coconut Water or “Humane Harvest” coconut water)
1/2 teaspoon of fresh Vanilla. Use the powder not the extract).
1/2 teaspoon of Celtic or Himalayan Sea Salt.
Please note: Since we are using Coconut Water as part of the recipe, it will have natural sugars, so if diabetes is an issue for you, please substitute Stevia or another low-glycemic sweetener in place of the coconut water and use more H2O instead.
